POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals? Friends House Retirement Community, Inc. offers an excellent opportunity for you as a Geriatric Care Nurse (LPN).

In this role, you will support the Nursing Supervisor in delivering patient care and overseeing the nursing unit. You may also serve as the Charge Nurse for the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a 1-year Licensed Practical Nurse program.
Must be currently licensed to practice nursing in Maryland.
Previous experience with elderly patients is advantageous.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
A reliable attendance record is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative:
Initiate Resident Assessment within 7 days of admission.
Conduct MMDS monthly evaluations on residents.
Order supplies as necessary and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
Keep accurate unit records.
Manage patient discharges and transfers.

Nursing:
Perform and/or oversee resident care in accordance with established protocols.
Review residents' charts for specific treatment and medication directives.
Delegate tasks to Geriatric Nursing Assistants and supervise Certified Medicine Aides.

Emergency Care:
Implement restorative and rehabilitative programs. Educate patients on self-help and self-care techniques.
Schedule urgent lab tests for residents and assist technicians during rounds.
Initiate, monitor, and uphold isolation and universal precautions.

General:
Comply with the standards and practices outlined in the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Participate in professional meetings and workshops.

7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm (Full-Time)
