Job Summary/Description:

WSAZ is seeking a visual storyteller to join our award-winning team.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in our newsroom and out in the field.

The ideal candidate should possess a passion for visual storytelling.

Most days will involve a front-row seat to live news events, where you will capture video, gather information, and conduct interviews.

You will also assist in editing video for newscasts and create engaging stories alongside our anchors and reporters.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Responsible for capturing and editing video and audio for all WSAZ multimedia platforms
• Must demonstrate proficiency in videography and video editing
• Must be capable of gathering news collaboratively or independently
• Responsible for maintaining assigned equipment, operating live trucks, and other tools
• Driving a company vehicle and fulfilling any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must exhibit sound news judgment
• Degree in broadcast journalism, television production, or photography preferred
• Previous experience in a newsroom as an employee or intern
• Strong photography skills and the ability to think creatively under tight deadlines
• Valid driver's license
• Familiarity with computers, cameras, and editing equipment
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
