Bioprocess Technician

Position Title:
Bioprocess Technician

Location:
East Syracuse, NY

Work Schedule:
Alternating weeks of 36 and 48 hours, from 6AM to 6PM

Salary Range:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Employment Type:
(contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement)

Key Responsibilities:
- Setup, operation, and sanitation of process machinery, including the manipulation of valves, hoses, clamps, and piping.
- Preparation of buffers, media, and reagents in quantities up to 2000L.
- Monitoring of process parameters and reporting any irregularities.
- Maintaining precise documentation.
- Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Achieving and maintaining proficiency in the aforementioned responsibilities through ongoing training.
- This role involves physical demands such as bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, or reaching, as well as occasional unassisted lifting (not exceeding 50 lbs).
- Handling and working with hazardous materials, including caustics, acids, and steam.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow written instructions, verify data, perform basic mathematical calculations as instructed, and accurately document results to ensure safe and compliant work practices.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with team members to execute scheduled tasks safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with common computer applications, including web-based tools.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to contributing to a culture of excellence and the mission of delivering benefits to patients globally.

Preferred Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of general chemistry, microbiology, or cleanroom operations.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with cGMP operations or aseptic techniques.
