Geotechnical Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team at NV5. As a Geotechnical Project Manager, you will be responsible for independently managing geotechnical projects, including field exploration, lab services, engineering analyses, and report preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage geotechnical projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical excellence, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
  • Provide consultation and oversee construction-phase observations and inspections.
  • Conduct and manage geotechnical field investigations, coordinating with subcontractors as needed.
  • Prepare work plans, interpret data, and generate geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Coordinate geotechnical and construction materials lab test data.
  • Perform construction materials testing, including nuclear gauge testing, if necessary.
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships, identifying new project opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated technical capabilities and working knowledge of basic geotechnical software (LPILE, FB-DEEP, SPW911, SETTL3D, SLOPE/W, etc).
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and client management skills.
