Packaging Mechanic Job Description

Come join HARIBO of America's first ever North American factory in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, where you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and infrastructure. As a Packaging Mechanic, you'll work closely with the Manager of Packaging & Technology to assemble, install, test, and maintain packaging equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor packaging equipment for proper operation and make adjustments and repairs to optimize machine performance.
  • Inspect equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning machines, systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown or operational problem.
  • Clean, lubricate, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Disassemble machinery to inspect for defects and replace compromised components. Reassemble machinery according to manufacturer's procedures.
  • Ability to repair and fabricate components using shop machine tools and applicable welding techniques.
  • Conducts inspection of and routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. An AAS degree in robotics, industrial maintenance or technology is a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience relating to industrial mechanical repairs.
  • Minimum one (1) year of trades training in industrial maintenance or other technical discipline.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, such as grinders, saws, machine tools, and welding equipment.
