Job Title: Physician Assistant Occupational Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Concentra. As a Physician Assistant Occupational Medicine Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant Occupational Medicine Specialist will be responsible for examining patients, compiling medical data, and administering diagnostic tests. You will also be responsible for interpreting test results, performing therapeutic procedures, and instructing patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine patients and compile medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.
  • Instruct patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of occupational health care.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patients, clients, and peers while incorporating Orange Book values.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related health field from an accredited college or university.
  • Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program).
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE).
  • Current licensed physician assistant in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice.
  • Must maintain work state physician assistant licensure throughout the course of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customarily has at least one year of demonstrated experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or an emergency setting.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with people in a manner that shows tact and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations.
