Job Title: Regional Director of Major Gifts

Job Summary:

The Regional Director of Major Gifts will be responsible for managing the philanthropic relationship between Exeter Finance and major and principal gift prospects and donors. This role will involve extensive travel to off-campus locations, scheduling approximately 150 face-to-face visits per year, and working with the Director of Major and Principal Gifts and Director of International and Principal Gifts to establish and achieve annual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess capacity and interest, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding assigned major gift prospects and donors.
  • Develop and execute a donor-centric plan for each assigned donor in collaboration with the Director of Major and Principal Gifts, Director of International and Principal Gifts, and the Director of Institutional Advancement.
  • Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, proposals, phone calls, and related communication.
  • Keep informed of the Academy's strategic plans, institutional priorities, funding needs, specific case, and objectives of gift opportunities.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team to build successful relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' relevant experience in various aspects of development or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, preferably in a private secondary school or college, or transferrable experience managing client relationships.
  • Campaign experience preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
  • Clean Driving record (reviewed annually).

Working Conditions:

This role requires extensive travel, occasional evenings and weekends, and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academy needs.
