About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is a global healthcare leader seeking a highly skilled Senior MEMS Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Heart Failure division, you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions to diagnose, monitor, and manage heart failure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test MEMS sensor prototypes for implantable applications.
  • Conduct experiments to enhance sensor performance and reliability.
  • Create custom test setups for prototype characterization.
  • Assess and select necessary equipment and tools for production as per sensor specifications.
  • Perform analytical modeling and FEM simulations of designs as required.
  • Assist in the transition from prototype design to manufacturing stage.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the current HF CardioMEMS sensor production line.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, etc.), or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor/MEMS device development and production.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process development, optimization, design of experiments methodology, and statistical data analysis.
  • Skilled in programming, mathematical modeling, and simulations using engineering software.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated with the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Engineering or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience of advanced microelectronics packaging concepts (die-attach, pick-and-place, wire bonding, wafer bonding, adhesive micro-dispensing, etc.).
  • Multilayer coil winding process design experience is a plus.
  • Experience transitioning MEMS or semiconductor devices from development to production for development of MEMS.
  • Experience with Class III implantable medical devices.
