Job Summary:The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications under the supervision of licensed physicians.
Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations of pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide patient education on preventive care, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in patient rounds, case discussions, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
- Provide follow-up care, including adjustments to treatment plans and patient monitoring.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Iowa.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a PA, with preference for experience in primary care, pediatrics, or specialty settings.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- $100,000-130,000 starting salary, based on incoming experience.
- Comprehensive health, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance.
- 12 days PTO (first 3 years), increasing to 18 days PTO (years 3-7), increasing to 24 days PTO (years 7+).
