The Creative Arts Therapist is a vital member of our team, responsible for utilizing creative arts therapy techniques to facilitate understanding and practice of coping skills, foster and enhance communication, self-esteem, creativity, socialization, and physical movement of assigned patients. This position works under limited supervision, providing creative arts therapy services and psychoeducation to patients in the in-patient setting.
Responsibilities
- Utilize creative arts therapy techniques to facilitate understanding and practice of coping skills, foster and enhance communication, self-esteem, creativity, socialization, and physical movement of assigned patients.
- Provide creative arts therapy services and psychoeducation to patients in the in-patient setting.
- Work under limited supervision.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, or Drama Therapy, or a bachelor's degree in music therapy with applicable board certification.
- Registration and/or Board-Certification preferred (MT-BC, ATR-BC, RDT, BC-DMT).
- Licensure preferred (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) or Associate Level Licensure.
- Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration upon hire if not in possession of any other listed license.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.
- Experience with geriatrics and adults preferred.
