Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at California Correctional Health Care Services. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in our correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Organize and coordinate patient care activities, including administering medications, conducting vital signs, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely and effective patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the Bureau of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPTE).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as needed, and to work in a physically demanding environment.
