Vantage Specialty Chemicals is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, engineering, supervision, safety, and closeout of capital and non-capital projects in support of site manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project development skills, including capital estimation, project justification, budget management, capital appropriations, and writing detailed engineering and safety reviews.
  • Complete project implementation, including project execution, contractor supervision, startup support, coordination of projects with site departments, and document control.
  • Develop and assist in delivering training to site personnel on new or modified systems and equipment.
  • Provide support to operations and maintenance as needed in day-to-day activities.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process-related topics.
  • Establish manufacturing standards, monitor actual plant performance, and make proposals for improvement. Administer the cost efficiency improvement program.
  • Assist in commissioning of new plant equipment and in troubleshooting of existing processes.
  • Assist in HAZOP studies and safety-based facility upgrades.
  • Work with finance on capital budgeting, forecasting, and the closeout of financial segments of projects.

Requirements:

  • 5 – 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required, as well as a minimum of 3 years' experience in relevant project/process engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Knowledge in piping systems, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, pressure vessels, boilers, chillers, air compressors, and all other machinery located within a manufacturing facility.
  • Electrical distribution and controls.
  • Instrumentation, including PLCs and DCS.
  • Experience working in a PSM environment is preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
