Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple clients, contracts, and projects concurrently.
- Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses, studies, and calculations.
- Draft and prepare engineering reports and documentation.
- Execute field explorations, sample collection, geological reconnaissance, and mapping activities.
- Monitor construction activities on-site and compile summary logs and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members at all levels.
- Mentor, guide, and supervise engineers and other staff.
- Review technical reports and engineering calculations prepared by junior engineers.
- Assist in business development and marketing efforts, including crafting cost proposals and presentations for clients.
- Adhere to Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policies.
- Promote and follow Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Master’s or PhD Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering), complemented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Geology.
- 7 to 14 years of professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
- Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) License in the relevant state.
- Experience in mentoring and supervising staff.

Level Placement
Depending on the applicant's education, experience, qualifications, and fit within the company culture, a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer may be positioned at a Shannon & Wilson Senior Professional I, II, or III level.
