We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating a scanner to obtain high-quality images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations, selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce high-quality images of the body.
- Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination, ensuring that patients are properly prepared and informed.
- Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media, and develop film in an automatic processor, ensuring that all images and documents are submitted promptly and accurately.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Ensure that equipment is properly functioning, reporting any potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following certifications required:
- Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
- Medical Sonographer specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- BLS certified, MRI experience preferred, but will train.
