About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. as a key member of our facilities maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our facilities, ensuring that our buildings are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems, equipment, and components.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of facilities and report on any issues or concerns that may impact client occupancy and operations.
  • General Maintenance: Perform general interior maintenance tasks, including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and repairing doors.
  • Support to Operations Team: Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment as directed.
  • Moving and Handling: Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
  • Lighting and HVAC Maintenance: Replace lighting and ballasts, clean HVAC coils, change filters, and belts.
  • Other Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by the operations team.
Safety and Compliance
  • Hazard Assessments: Complete hazard assessments as necessary to identify potential safety risks.
  • Safety Procedures: Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Safety Training: Complete all required safety trainings as scheduled.
  • Defensive Driving: Practice defensive driving at all times.
  • Hazardous Materials: Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Driving and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Work Order Management: Update work order status in real-time and utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate problems or issues to customers and managers in a timely manner.
  • Meetings and Communication: Attend work and safety meetings as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction, and a boilers license preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Lifting up to 80 lbs, working from heights, frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead, working in adverse conditions, driving for long periods of time, and climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
