Job Summary

The MRI Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process, working closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of MRI technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures to generate detailed images of the body's internal structures.
  • Evaluate patient requests for radiographic services and assess patients to determine the most appropriate procedure protocol.
  • Coordinate the selection of scan parameters, including pulse sequences, to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Provide patient education and care throughout the procedure, adhering to department and hospital standards of nursing care.
  • Document imaging procedures accurately to ensure correct charging and patient tracking.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging room supplies, ensuring availability and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Certification and registration in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).
  • Competency in evaluating and caring for geriatric, pediatric, and adolescent patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain competencies and comply with continuing education requirements.
Working Conditions

This position is based in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust or extreme temperatures. The MRI Technologist will be required to assist with lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
