Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is for a field technician with expertise in the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of boiler systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills to conduct maintenance on commercial and industrial boiler systems. The position involves collaboration with a seasoned and factory-trained service technician who will provide guidance on all aspects of repair and maintenance.

During the initial months, the candidate will receive training on Cleaver-Brooks boilers and will have the opportunity to accompany the cleaning crew and A Level Technicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems.
  • Oversee low pressure, high pressure, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
  • Replace faulty valves, filters, or steam gauges as necessary.
  • Monitor boiler systems to ensure safe and efficient operation; facilitate regular cleaning.
  • Identify and address issues with boiler systems, alerting maintenance when required.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor to ensure a positive customer service experience.
  • Report any potentially hazardous equipment or safety violations to the supervisor.
  • OSHA 30, F-60 & G-60 certifications are mandatory.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in boiler maintenance, combustion, and basic boiler circuits (non-PLC controlled).
  • Technical or vocational training with experience in HVAC or industrial boilers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial boiler operations and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to adhere to OSHA safety protocols and procedures.
  • Availability for standby (weekend/holiday) shifts on a rotational basis; company will provide specialty tools as permitted, but candidates must possess their own hand tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capable of inspecting and repairing boilers physically.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Welding skills are a plus.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check prior to employment (at the company's expense).
