Job Title: Youth Advocate

Catholic Charities Eastern Washington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Advocate to join our team. As a Youth Advocate, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for youth at the LOFT, ensuring their engagement in healthy behaviors, and promoting their overall well-being.

Job Summary

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to serving vulnerable youth. As a Youth Advocate, you will be responsible for providing primary supervision, overseeing household management activities, and assisting with LOFT operational and administrative duties. You will work closely with the LOFT Administrator and Case Manager to provide learning opportunities and programs for youth, encourage their participation in youth development activities, and provide follow-up and aftercare services as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for youth at the LOFT, ensuring their engagement in healthy behaviors.
  • Oversee household management activities, including maintenance of the overall cleanliness of the LOFT.
  • Assist with LOFT operational and administrative duties, including data collection and reporting.
  • Work closely with the LOFT Administrator and Case Manager to provide learning opportunities and programs for youth.
  • Encourage youth participation in youth development activities and provide follow-up and aftercare services as needed.
  • Conduct daily cleaning duties, including vacuuming, trash removal, sanitizing, and laundry.
  • Prepare and serve meals for residents, adhering to nutritional and health code guidelines.
  • Use appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of client protected health information (PHI).
  • Regularly utilize all forms of communication and database practices necessary for this position.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in social services or a closely related field from an accredited school and one year of experience working with children or youth, or a bachelor's degree in social services or a closely related field from an accredited school and two years of experience working with children or youth.
  • Experience in direct client services, preferably with issues of homelessness and poverty.
  • Successful experience coordinating and implementing strict programmatic requirements and regulations.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive for work use.
Work Environment

The Youth Advocate will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of youth and staff. The LOFT is a safe and supportive space, but it can also be challenging and unpredictable at times. The Youth Advocate must be able to adapt to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
