About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Senior Auditor to join our team at Dallas - Skilled Trades. As a senior-level auditor, you will be responsible for managing client engagements, ensuring work quality, and complying with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of technical and complex audit sections, demonstrating expertise in professional and firm standards.
  • Consulting with managers or partners on engagements to address technical issues.
  • Planning engagements, establishing client deadlines, and ensuring compliance throughout the audit process.
  • Coordinating phases of engagements, including budgeting, monitoring performance against expectations, and reporting to management.
  • Performing preliminary analytical procedures, assessing risk, and determining sampling requirements for audit testing.
  • Preparing and reviewing accurate and complete working papers and financial statements with footnotes.
  • Supervising and mentoring staff accountants, providing constructive feedback and training to enhance their skills.
  • Ensuring deliverables such as work papers, tax returns, and management letters meet firm and professional standards.
  • Preparing routine correspondence for client communication and drafting management letters for partner review.
  • Conducting evaluations of clients' internal controls and preparing related reports.
  • Supporting the firm's growth by completing other projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting required.
  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience with increasing responsibility in auditing and accounting, including at least 1 year of Senior Auditor experience at a midsize firm.
  • Active CPA license in good standing with the AICPA or pursuing CPA certification with 150 credit hours completed.
  • Specific industry experience is a plus, particularly in Construction/Real Estate, Dental Practice, Dealer Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing & Distribution, and Not-For-Profit sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS; ability to research and resolve accounting issues.
  • Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CCH Engagement) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with clients, partners, and peers.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines within time and budget constraints.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent local travel to client sites, meetings, and seminars.
  • Hybrid work model: All employees are expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week, with specific days determined by the manager.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
