PET/CT Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist to join our team at Akumin. As a key member of our imaging team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and radiation safety regulations.
  • Produces high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists.
  • Trains new technologists and PC's.
  • Trouble-shoots scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
  • Dual certification as a Nuclear Medicine or Positron Emissions Tomography Technologist by the NMTCB or ARRT and Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT.
  • State license required as applicable.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Preferred:
  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • A minimum of one year of PET and CT experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
  • The employee will be exposed to a strong magnetic field.
  • May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
