Statewide Medical Director Opportunity

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statewide Medical Director to oversee multiple sites throughout the West region of Michigan.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of managed healthcare systems, medical quality assurance, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide guidance, leadership, and oversight of all aspects of correctional medical care
- Authorize services, consult with clinical operations, and provide overall clinical direction
- Maintain clinical quality and integrity of patient medical care, including utilization and quality management, credentialing, and best practice guideline development
- Support facilities in developing site-specific protocols, interpreting policies, and leading initiatives related to medical services and nursing care
- Supervise physicians and mid-level providers, participate in staff and community education initiatives, and represent the healthcare program in discussions with local civic groups or visiting officials
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan
- Board Certification
- Valid unrestricted DEA License
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Masters degree in business administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHCA), or similar
- Experience in launching and managing innovative medical programs, developing, conducting, and evaluating program audits, and working with information technology staff to implement and manage sophisticated practice management and/or EHR software packages
- Leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
