Key Responsibilities- Administer patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the highest level of wellness for our patients.
- Maintain consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality.
- Comply with conditions of employment, including dress code policy and limitations on non-emergency personal telephone calls.
- Assist the RN in the nursing process, providing information for the development of the plan of care.
- Promptly report identified changes in the patient's condition, utilizing diagnostic data, medical orders, and nursing assessment.
- Set priorities for care of patients based on acuity and/or patient/family preference, accurately reporting and documenting patient symptoms, responses, and status.
- Safely perform and document nursing procedures required by patient assignment, consistent with scientific principles of nursing and policy and procedure.
- Promote and participate in patient/family education and counseling, based on health needs, and report learning needs of the patient and family to be included in the teaching plan of care.
- Assist in ensuring that discharge needs are met, including food and drug interactions, test, procedures, medications, and equipment and return appointments.
- Demonstrate competence to perform skills for which training has been provided, including completion of required CBSA, unit specific skills, and annual competency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Computer Knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
- Successful completion of LVN/LPN training.
- Prefer 6 months of clinical practice in an acute care environment.
- Maintain current state licensure and provide the hospital with verification.
- Maintain current BCLS certification.
