Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse provides high-quality patient care, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and develop individualized care plans to address these needs.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to provide safe and effective patient care, and evaluate the effectiveness of these practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support these initiatives.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff to promote health and well-being.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills, and contribute to the development of clinical education programs.
  • Support the development of clinical leaders and mentors to promote a culture of excellence and innovation in patient care.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement projects to advance the field of nursing and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required, or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in pediatric nursing preferred.

The Staff Nurse must be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
