Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources

Kansas State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources to join our team in the Sunflower District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Design and deliver educational programs to address the needs of farmers, ranchers, and other stakeholders in the Sunflower District. This may include programming related to livestock production, agricultural economics, management, and public policy, horticultural production and management, and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.
- Youth Development Programming: Share leadership for the district's youth development programming related to agriculture and natural resources, including youth livestock and agricultural safety programs.
- Community Engagement: Provide support to the Sunflower District Master Gardener Program, a team of extension-trained volunteers who provide horticultural education and service within their communities.
- Community Vitality Programming: Share responsibility for community vitality programming that helps our communities become better places to live, work, and play.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, natural resources, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a related field, such as extension work, agriculture, or natural resources.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse audiences, and experience with program development and implementation.
