Job Summary:

The Elder Care Specialist role at Arctic Slope Native Association, Ltd. involves supporting elders in achieving their life goals. This position requires a person-centered approach, where the specialist works closely with the elder and their team to develop community inclusion opportunities. The ideal candidate will maintain loyalty to the organization and its values, while upholding confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Explore and develop community inclusion opportunities for elders
• Assist elders in participating in community activities
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
• Collaborate with the elder, their team, and the agency to achieve life goals
• Uphold the organization's values and mission

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience working with elders or as a nurse's aide is preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds from a squat and kneel position on the floor
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and handle emergency situations professionally
