Position Overview
The role of the 4-H Program Assistant is designed to provide essential support to county extension agents in the execution of various programs. This position is vital for the effective management of day-to-day operations within the 4-H program.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting 4-H participants in preparing for competitive events, including project achievements and judging teams.
- Coordinating transportation for 4-H members to district and state events, and if required, offering guidance and leadership during these occasions.
- Utilizing feedback and evaluations from programs to enhance future initiatives and methodologies.
- Maintaining regular office hours to provide assistance to clientele and manage daily operations.
- Facilitating access to Extension resources and services, including printed materials, online resources, and diagnostic service submissions (e.g., soil and water testing, feed analysis).
- Performing additional related tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess technical expertise in the relevant field, which can be acquired through an apprenticeship, a two-year degree, or a professional certification. Strong organizational skills, proficiency in office practices, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are essential.
Physical Requirements
