Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Puget Sound Home Health & Hospice is a Medicare-certified Home Health agency seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient services and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the ongoing evaluation of patient's functional status, teaching new skills or retraining patients in daily activities, and maintaining accurate clinical records.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation of patient's functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, and work capacity.
  • Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities, in accordance with organization policy.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, including clinical notes and reports to the registered occupational therapist.
  • Submit clinical documentation in accordance with Organization policy.
  • Follow treatment program and goals for improved patient function as established by the registered occupational therapist.
  • Maintain contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patient's care to promote coordinated, efficient care.
  • Attend and contribute to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings as required by Organization policy.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Licensed by the State Board of Healing Arts in accordance with State licensure laws.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
