Job Overview

As a key player in the Supply Chain department, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing logistics and supply chain activities. This role encompasses a variety of functions including material sourcing, production scheduling, inventory management, vendor selection, and distribution strategies.

The Procurement Specialist will develop integrated workflows among internal departments such as operations, purchasing, and logistics, as well as with external suppliers. The focus will be on enhancing the efficiency of material movement through production processes, while establishing performance metrics and benchmarks for supply chain planning and forecasting to regularly assess performance against set objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, coordinate and oversee purchasing activities for materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Assist in procurement contract management to ensure that pricing, quality, and service standards are met.
  • Evaluate supplier qualifications, assess bids, and suggest alternative suppliers to the negotiation team to improve quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives for cost reduction, year-end reconciliation, purchase price variance, and the execution of purchase orders.
  • Act as a liaison to vendors and suppliers, organizing meetings to maintain quality, competitive pricing, and service continuity.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and purchasing data for the purpose of updating standard costs.
  • Monitor compliance with the Global Sourcing and Procurement Policy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing; 2 years of related experience preferred.
