Job Overview

The Plumbing Estimator will play a crucial role in the success of our multifamily construction projects. As an expert in plumbing estimation, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates that ensure profitability and alignment with client requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project Estimation: You will analyze project documents, including blueprints, specifications, and RFPs, to determine project scope, costs, and resources. Your detailed cost estimates should include labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Build strong relationships with vendors for reliable cost inputs.
  • Budgeting and Value Engineering: Work with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative materials or methods. Ensure estimates are aligned with project budgets and financial goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all estimates, including assumptions and calculations. Generate reports summarizing project costs, risks, and potential profitability.
  • Client and Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address questions about estimates. Participate in project meetings to support bid presentations and negotiations.
Requirements:
  • You hold a high school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in plumbing estimation, construction estimation, or a related role.
  • You possess a strong understanding of multifamily construction, plumbing systems, materials, and local building codes.
  • You are proficient in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You have excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • You can read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • You possess effective communication and negotiation skills.
Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 annually, based on your experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off and holidays, 401(k) with company match, and professional development opportunities.
