The Oroville Hospital is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Plant Operations department, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, cooling, and heating systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and test electrical and signal circuits to ensure proper function
- Perform repairs or modifications to compressors, motors, condensers, fans, thermostats, ducts, pipes, and other mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and/or systems
- Disassemble mechanical or electrical machinery, equipment, and/or systems to retrofit or replace ancillary components as required
- Assist in transporting materials and tools by hand, dolly, or truck
- Make repairs, clean, lubricate, and store maintenance tools and equipment
- Observe mechanical devices, pumps, engines, motors, refrigeration/air conditioning systems in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Repair or replace defective parts
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments or install special functional and structural parts
- Lubricate and clean parts
- Start devices to test their performance
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal-working tools to make and repair parts
- Keep records for equipment showing type, model number, date of installation, and extent of service
- Perform a variety of duties in and around the buildings and grounds of the Hospital facility
- High School Graduate or Equivalent, with related shop courses
- Trade school, apprenticeship program preferred
- Minimum two (2) years experience as a commercial refrigeration mechanic required
- Must have a valid California Drivers License and clean DMV record
Work may require using ladders or scaffolding. Lifting and moving heavy equipment. The mechanic must assume awkward and cramped positions to reach parts of the unit(s) during installation, servicing, and maintenance. Work will be inside and outside.
