Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and record routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Verify specimen labeling, integrity, and suitability before performing testing, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Accurately perform low, medium, and high complexity testing procedures according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Report test results accurately and appropriately, communicating critical results to physicians and nursing staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless laboratory operations, prioritizing work to maintain maximum efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
  • Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required or registry eligible within 1 year of hire date.
  • Completion of medical technology training required.
