Job Title: NETOPS System Administrator

Cole Engineering Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled NETOPS System Administrator to join our team at the Joint Cyber Training Enterprise (JCTE). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing network/system stability and analytics, while advancing NETOPS maturity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor system performance and utilize platform tools to communicate effectively with reporting agencies.
  • Oversee system virtualized resources, identify best practices, and support large-scale cyber exercises.
  • Contribute to cyber training and help establish an internal NETOPS capability at JCTE.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team to provide network & resource monitoring expertise for training operations across USCC and various service components and agencies.
Requirements:
  • Day-to-day network performance monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of analytics tools such as Metabase and Grafana.
  • Collects metrics and trending data, develops data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyzes data sources, assesses validity, and provides actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Net App, and RedHat Linux (RHEL).
  • Experienced in technical support and quality assurance for platform resources and services.
  • Self-starter in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineers of varying skills and experience levels.
  • Effective written and oral communication with leadership on both business and technical aspects.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as IT, computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. (5 years' experience in lieu of degree)
  • 8570 Compliant IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification required within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Problem-solving skills for resolving technical issues across diverse integrated software and hardware platforms.
  • Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
  • Proficiency in generating queries and reports, utilizing data analysis tools such as Excel, Meta Base, and SPSS.
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Effective communication with vendors, users, customers, and developers to comprehend needs and operational requirements changes impacting the production environment.
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
