Job Title: Registered Nurse - Dermatology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at California Skin Institute Management LLC. As a Registered Nurse in our dermatology department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical and surgical nursing care to patients in an outpatient surgical clinic
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
  • Perform medical procedures as directed by a physician
  • Provide care to patients before and after surgery
  • Oversee and guide employees under your supervision
  • Respond to medical and surgical problems patients may experience while admitted to the surgical facility
  • Administer IV fluids, dispense medications, coordinate medical records, and chart patient progress
  • Measure and record vital signs, change dressings, help with physical therapy, and other treatments
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members, such as doctors and laboratory technicians
  • Review the surgery schedule each day and prepare the OR suite with supplies and equipment
  • Evaluate facility compliance and readiness for accreditation surveys and assist during surveys
  • Monitor and track daily, weekly, and monthly surgery center logs
  • Admit patients according to facility policy and procedure
  • Maintain and demonstrate safe medication practices
  • Demonstrate proper infection control procedures
  • Assure patients and families understand procedures to be performed
  • Complete pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative functions and records
  • Provide a safe environment for patients
  • Set priorities to facilitate the flow of patients efficiently
  • Make preoperative and postoperative patient phone calls
  • Review pre-admission information, notify physicians of abnormal values or insufficient reports
  • Administer and chart medications as ordered by physicians, reinforce and clarify physician instructions and explanations to patients and families
  • Maintain a positive and professional ambulatory surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner
  • Ensure all documentation, including history and physical summaries, operative consents, pre-op information forms, allergy reports, and proper lab work, is in order before patients are admitted to the operative suite
  • Notify anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgeons of any concerns arising from the admission procedure
  • Follow all policies and procedures established by the practice to ensure quality care to patients
  • Communicate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members any information that aids in the overall care of patients

Qualifications:

  • Previous surgical experience
  • Familiarity with surgery center accreditation
  • Physician office, dermatology, or plastic surgeon industry experience a plus
  • Experience with Nextech software a plus
  • Must be licensed in the state as an R.N. and have current ACLS
  • Surgery experience (pre-operative, intra-operative, post-operative)
  • Familiarity with surgery center accreditation
  • Dermatology or plastic surgery experience a plus
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
