Composite Mechanic

Alstom is seeking a skilled Composite Mechanic to join our team in East Ventura, CA. As a Composite Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing rail equipment.

• Review and understand project/activity requests, safety instructions, blueprints, and schematics to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives.
• Dismantle, assemble, and replace new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as HVAC, brake, pneumatic systems, propulsion equipment, and truck and car body equipment.
• Analyze sub-systems to meet design or rated specifications and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications in a timely fashion.
• Record activities performed and indicate relevant information on report cards or data sheets.
• Perform quality tests and verification to ensure safe performance of sub-assemblies or components.
• Unplug, clean, and repair toilets, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Knowledge of Rail Equipment Systems and Sub-systems.
• Mechanical and Electrical aptitudes.

• 1 year of experience in rail maintenance of equipment field.
• Diesel/Mechanical Vocational Certificate required if no relevant experience.
