About the Role:

  • As a Fire Safety Specialist with Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, you will be responsible for conducting routine preventative maintenance on fire suppression systems, servicing and inspecting wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems, and installing, maintaining, repairing, or replacing fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

  • You will also be responsible for servicing wet-based fire sprinkler systems, interacting with customers in a mature and professional manner, installing or upgrading fire sprinklers in commercial and residential buildings, testing and repairing alarm systems, and performing inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code.

  • Additionally, you will be responsible for completing detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues, and reporting results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.

  • You will also be responsible for protecting and maintaining company equipment, inspecting and maintaining the truck and all related equipment, operating warehouse equipment in a safe manner, and responding to emergency service calls.

  • Other duties may include maintaining a clean and safe workspace, following direction and working independently when needed, and performing other duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems, preferably with commercial and residential systems experience.

  • You should have troubleshooting skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

  • A clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site are also required.

  • You should be flexible with scheduling requirements that occasionally will require evening, weekend, and/or out-of-town assignments.

  • Additionally, you should have the ability to display knowledge of principles and practices of fire safety, codes and regulations related to the work, and basic practices of reviewing official documents for completeness and accuracy.

  • You should also be able to act in a lead capacity, recognize and report deviations through inspection programs, interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations, and maintain accurate records and reports.

  • Finally, you should be able to understand and follow oral and written directions, use or repair small/light equipment, and understand the company's Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
