Catheterization Laboratory Technologist

About the Role:
- Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
- Job Type: Full-time
- Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Holidays as needed. On call required.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Must have 2 years of prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital.
- Knowledge of electrophysiology intra-procedure mapping, ablation, and implant devices is required. Skills in scrubbing are necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with procedures including Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, TEC, Rotablator, Valvuloplasty, Intravascular Ultrasound, Pulmonary Angiograms, and the insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps and stents.
- Prepare sterile trays and organize specific equipment for each procedure.
- Prepare patients by attaching EKG leads and performing betadine scrubs per protocol.
- Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
- Load and operate power injectors.
- Operate digital cine technologies and manage protocols for storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic records.
- Ensure proper downloading of all CD acquisitions for review.
- Provide emergency support measures to restore or maintain patient well-being.
- Assist in removing procedural sheaths from patients after transfer to the nursing care unit or recovery room.
- Participate in the insertion of vascular closure devices to ensure inter-vascular stability.
- Maintain, calibrate, and evaluate all diagnostic and technical equipment periodically.
