Position Overview
The Power Equipment Sales Consultant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while achieving sales objectives across various Power Equipment categories. This role demands a thorough knowledge of power equipment, an understanding of retail financing, awareness of competitive products, and a history of building relationships and closing sales successfully. Key product areas include Tractors, Attachments & Implements, Zero-Turn and Riding Lawn Mowers, Utility Trailers, UTVs, and related accessories and parts. As the main contact for customer power equipment needs throughout the equipment's life cycle, this position is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Outstanding Customer Service:
    • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to customers, addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
    • Assist customers in identifying power equipment solutions that meet their specific needs.
    • Guide customers through the retail financing process, ensuring all requirements are met prior to equipment release.
    • Support customers and store mechanics with repair documentation in the management system, including case creation, part requests, work orders, and warranty claims.
    • Maintain up-to-date customer information in the management system throughout the equipment's life cycle.
  • Manage Daily Operations:
    • Oversee the procurement of various Power Equipment to maintain store inventory and fulfill customer orders.
    • Assist with the receiving, organizing, and displaying of power equipment products.
    • Ensure that product displays and signage are correctly set and maintained to maximize sales potential.
    • Follow merchandising guidelines to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Conduct pre-delivery inspections for all applicable equipment.
    • Coordinate the delivery of equipment products to customers as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records in both store systems and the management system.
    • Work with service and repair teams to address equipment issues.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Cross-train fellow associates to assist customers with power equipment inquiries.
    • Help maintain the cleanliness of the store's exterior and work areas.
    • Stay informed about the latest developments in power equipment.
    • Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a strong desire to assist others.
  • In-depth knowledge and operational experience with power equipment.
  • Ability to operate a ladder, pallet jack, and/or forklift.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport and communicating effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise information sharing.
  • Adaptability to new environments and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Proficient in using electronic devices, including tablets and computers.
