**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Team1Medical. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care services.
About the Role:
This position involves assisting with various clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, urine collection, pregnancy tests, and vital signs. You will also be responsible for preparing and labeling samples, maintaining laboratory and exam rooms, and performing data entry using our electronic medical records system.
What You Will Do:
- Assist with program health screening by performing phlebotomy (including capillary and venous draws), urine collection, pregnancy tests, lead testing, and vital signs.
- Prepare and label samples (stools for parasite, blood, sputum, etc.) for transport to appropriate laboratories.
- Provide in-room support for all clinical staff during clinic visits as needed.
- Maintain laboratory and exam rooms in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
- Inventories supplies and forms; submits items for ordering (via designated software and contract laboratory) as needed.
- Assist in performing data entry and electronic data processing by using the program EMR, Microsoft Excel, and any other related software.
- Stock the clinic with all necessary equipment for client screening. Assist with rotating dated stock to prevent loss.
- Make home visits when necessary to retrieve medical records and obtain consents and/or collect specimens.
- Perform quality assurance on all needed medical equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a community college or business/technical school Medical Assistant program.
- Experience with blood draw.
- Certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants.
- BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (BCLS) Certified.
- Six (6) months as a Medical Assistant with experience in a medical office, hospital, or laboratory is required.
- Valid TX Driver's License.
- Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Preferred Experience working in a community health clinic.
