About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at HCA Houston ER 24/7. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a fast-paced environment and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for performing technical duties under the direction of the Manager, Lead CT Tech and/or Medical Director of Radiology. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize work well, and demonstrate good customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtains quality diagnostic images according to protocol
  • Exam orders: ensures all orders have the required 5 elements
  • RIS: ensures orders are valid and entered appropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct, completes exams with accurate information, documents pertinent information.
  • Follows all radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes.
  • Maintains orderly and safe work area.
  • Maintains departmental compliance logs.
  • PACS: Scans in and labels documents appropriately, resolve QA issues in a timely manner, ensure images are released to radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Participates in departmental accreditation processes and QA.
  • Ensures venipuncture is performed following all infection control processes and medication is administered to appropriate patients
  • Participates in performance improvement processes.
Requirements
  • At least one year of CT experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Computerized Tomography Technician
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician
  • Associate Degree, or Certificate

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with a 100% match, and more.
