Position Title:
Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist at The Kidz Club
About Our Organization:
The Kidz Club is dedicated to delivering exceptional and intensive therapy services, including Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Therapy (ST) to children at our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center. Our PPEC facility offers daily skilled nursing care for medically-complex children from birth to 21 years old.
To learn more about our mission and services, please visit our website.
Expectations for the Role:
As a Speech-Language Pathologist at our center, we seek a candidate with experience in pediatric feeding and/or both high- and low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), as these areas represent a significant portion of our caseload. The role also involves early intervention and play-based therapy approaches.
The children we serve range from infants discharged from NICU to young adults requiring mobility assistance. Comfort in treating this diverse population is essential for success in this position.
Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is a key component of our work environment. You will need to engage effectively with other therapists and staff members (PT, OT, ABA, nursing, and caregivers) throughout the day, while being familiar with basic medical terminology and procedures.
This setting includes medically-complex children, some of whom may exhibit behavioral challenges. A strong understanding of therapeutic interventions for unique cases, along with the ability to manage disruptive behaviors, is crucial.
We operate on a fee-for-service model, allowing for flexibility in your schedule. However, it is important to be diligent, self-driven, and efficient in managing your time.
Above all, we are looking for an individual with a friendly demeanor, quick problem-solving skills, a passion for assisting children with special needs, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose a range of speech, language, and feeding disorders for clients aged birth to 21.
- Create tailored treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments to address communication and swallowing challenges.
- Implement evidence-based practices during therapy sessions customized to each client's needs.
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of treatment plans and client progress.
- Educate and support clients, families, and caregivers on strategies for effective therapy carry-over at home.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and therapists, to provide coordinated care.
- Stay updated with advancements in the field through ongoing education and professional development.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing authorities.
Qualifications:
- A master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution, along with your Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and state licensure from the appropriate health department.
- Clinical experience with the pediatric population, particularly in medical settings, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in using standardized assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, and relevant assistive technologies.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competency and adhering to HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification.
Benefits:
(for full-time, W2 employees) - Flexible scheduling options allowing for autonomy in patient scheduling, provided productivity goals are met. Opportunities for additional hours are available but not mandatory.
- Enhanced compensation for evaluations and re-evaluations.
- 401K plan and Student Loan Reimbursement options.
- Comprehensive health benefits or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
- Vision and dental coverage.
- Basic and voluntary life insurance.
- Long-term care insurance with death benefits.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for dependent care.
- Short- and long-term disability insurance options.
- Continuing education scholarship opportunities.
- Closed nights, Sundays, and major holidays.
Compensation:
$35-40/hour
Option to work as a 1099 contractor at a higher rate without benefits.
We are an equal opportunity employer, and all employment decisions are based solely on individual qualifications and organizational needs.
