Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer

At Synectics, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our engineers and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as in-house expert on structural and stress-related problems, providing guidance and support to less experienced engineers.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in structural analysis and design, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for project execution, including structural analysis, failure analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Develop and implement new analysis methods and tools for internal use and to offer clients.
  • Perform on-site inspections of power plant HRSGs and boilers, providing practical recommendations to increase reliability and efficiency.
  • Prepare proposals to clients based on their specific needs, determining price, scope of supply, and writing proposals.
  • Promote our products and services, responsible for evaluation of structural components in existing HRSGs and other heat recovery boilers, and structural design of systems and components.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University.
  • PE License required.
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, and industry-specific software tools.
  • Technical proficiency in structural analysis and design of boilers, knowledge of ASME Section I, B31.1, and AISC ASD/LRFD.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30% as an annual average, with occasional higher travel during busy seasons.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to summarize project results and recommendations.
