Job Summary:

AmeriCare Plus seeks a compassionate and dedicated Caregiving Specialist to provide one-on-one care in the home for clients. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
  • Provide assistance with Home Maintenance Activities (IADLs) like preparing meals, washing dishes, cleaning, and managing supplies.
  • Accompany clients with Medicaid Transport or family transport, as pre-approved by the LPN/RN.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Must be certified as a CNA, NA, or PCA (exception Companion Aide only to Private Pay).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Documentation of positive work history as evidenced by at least two work references on file.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • No more than 2 company or state barrier crimes (criminal history check results must meet state and company standards).
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English, and meet one of the following qualifications:
    • Satisfactory completion of a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse licensure or practical nurse licensure.
    • Satisfactory completion of a nurse aide education program approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
    • Certification as a nurse aide issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
    • Successful enrollment in a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse or practical nurse licensure, with currently completed at least one nursing course that includes clinical experience involving direct care.
    • Satisfactory passing of a competency evaluation program meeting the criteria of 42 CFR 484.36 (b).
    • Satisfactory completion of training using the 'Personal Care Aide Training Curriculum,' 2003 edition, of the Department of Medical Assistance Services.

Salary: $12-$16 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
