CT Imaging Specialist for Travel Assignment

Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled CT Technologist for a travel assignment in Hawaii. As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients.

You will work closely with our experienced healthcare professionals to ensure seamless operations and outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Preparation and Communication:
- Greet patients, explain the procedure, and answer any questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Verify patient information, medical history, allergies, and prior imaging to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Operation of CT Equipment:
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, adjusting settings as needed for each scan.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician or radiologist guidance to enhance image clarity.
- Monitor equipment during imaging to capture high-quality images and prevent errors.
- Image Quality and Review:
- Review images for quality, ensuring all required areas are captured and meet diagnostic standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists to ensure images support diagnosis, repeating or adjusting scans as necessary.
- Patient Safety and Comfort:
- Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure, using shielding and adhering to dosage guidelines.
- Ensure a sterile environment in the CT room, sanitizing equipment between patients.
- Properly position patients to prevent injury or discomfort, especially for vulnerable patients.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine imaging procedures and diagnose conditions.
- Document patient information, scan parameters, and complications in the electronic health record.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot the CT scanner and associated equipment, ensuring proper function.
- Perform routine inspections and calibration, alerting maintenance staff to malfunctions.
- Radiation Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff, adhering to regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes to regulatory standards, including radiation safety and patient privacy guidelines.
Estimated Salary: $60-$80 per hour (dependent on location and experience), based on industry standards and comparable positions in the US. This competitive pay package reflects the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care.
