SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the individual will deliver daily instruction tailored to meet the objectives of Individualized Educational Plans; guide assigned students; and oversee students participating in curricular, co-curricular, and related activities. The position reports to the building principal. A background in RBT is preferred, though SBT training will be provided.

DUTIES/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.

Delivers instruction to assigned students; prepares daily lesson plans utilizing textbooks, supplemental instructional materials, audio-visual aids, critical thinking skills, and established courses of study.

2. Supervises and manages student behavior (e.g., classroom, hallways, restrooms, lunchroom, assemblies, bus duty, etc.) in accordance with the student discipline code.
3. Assesses student performance through teacher-made tests, standardized assessments, and observational methods.
4. Provides behavioral and academic support for students as necessary.
5. Implements and follows Individual Educational Plans for students designated for instruction.
6.

Completes required supplemental duties (e.g., attendance tracking, grade reporting, interim reports, book orders, supply requisitions, emergency medical forms, insurance documentation, fee collections, student cumulative folders, bulletin boards, etc.).

7. Schedules and conducts periodic conferences with parents. Collaborates with school personnel (e.g., principal, teachers, counselor, psychologist, supervisors, etc.) as needed.
8. Conducts inventory of assigned areas and provides data to the building principal's office. Requests supplies, textbooks, and equipment as necessary.
9. Participates in and assists with emergency preparedness drills (e.g., tornado, fire, etc.).
10. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
11. Engages in professional development activities, including in-services, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
12. Serves on education-related committees (e.g., curriculum, course of study, textbook selection, etc.).
13. Participates in co-curricular and school community activities.
14. Performs additional duties as required in the job description and as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's or advanced degree.
2. Valid Ohio teaching certification/license with appropriate endorsements.
3. Must pass a criminal background check.
