Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. The successful candidate will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records, and position patients for optimal imaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform procedures/studies, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Adjust factors to attain the appropriate images, ensuring safety and mental and physical comfort of patients.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Communicate findings to physicians and ensure accurate patient charges.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, operating ultrasound equipment, and interacting with patients and healthcare professionals. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. The position may involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
