Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at the Diocese of Allentown. As a key member of our preschool staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and educational environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pre-K Teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities that promote student learning and development.
  • Support Classroom Operations by preparing instructional materials, supplies, and equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate Effectively with parents, teachers, and staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise Students during recess, lunch, and dismissal, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in Field Trips and Fundraisers to enhance the preschool experience and promote student engagement.
  • Collaborate with Administrators and staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the preschool program.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of college or related coursework in child development or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check required.
Working Conditions

This is a seasonal position that mirrors the school year, with a typical schedule of 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. May be required to work outside normal hours to attend school-related events, meetings, and/or staff development.
