The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a range of computed tomography procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic evaluation. This role demands creativity, initiative, and independent judgment to deliver high-quality imaging results.

Shift differentials available for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical aspects of the role.
- Operate CT machinery and associated information systems effectively to ensure the production of quality images.
- Confirm patient identity, verify orders, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Conduct examinations according to departmental protocols.
- Review and assess images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring all necessary anatomical structures are included.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff.
- Complete studies within acceptable timeframes as per departmental standards without compromising patient care or image quality.
- Provide relevant patient education, ensure comfort, and address any concerns from patients or their families.
- Coordinate patient care and relay essential information to other healthcare providers post-procedure.
- Implement appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
- Adhere to protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, obtaining necessary consents, and reporting equipment issues.
- Under physician supervision, administer contrast media to patients as required and educate them on safety concerns related to contrast use.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols through continuing education and professional development.
- Assist and mentor students and fellow radiology technologists in examination protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days, Required
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire, Required
- Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT), Preferred
- State licensure as applicable, Upon Hire, Required
- IV Competency within 90 Days, Required
- For caregivers in Colorado, Fluoroscopy certification is Preferred
- Specific facility-based certification may be required; compliance managed by each facility
- 1-2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting is Preferred
