The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in the dialysis treatment process, supporting clinical staff to deliver prescribed treatments and ensuring safe care for patients. Our PCTs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, working together to achieve the highest quality outcomes for every patient.
Responsibilities- Participate in infection control and risk management activities to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Guide new patients through a comprehensive education plan, helping them understand their treatment and care.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the charge nurse.
- Set up and break down dialysis equipment, ensuring proper function and maintenance.
- Insert and remove patient access needles, following proper protocols and procedures.
- Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight, determining care priorities and organizing workload accordingly.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, respecting their privacy and rights.
- Perform laboratory work and track inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient care.
- Paid 12-week training with a preceptor, providing comprehensive knowledge and skills.
- Competitive pay, with a pay range of $17-$26 per hour, depending on healthcare experience.
