As a Hospice Nursing Aide, you will provide essential personal care services, including changing linens, assisting with bathing, and maintaining hygiene routines for hospice patients. You will also support family members in caring for their loved ones by guiding them through basic healthcare tasks. Regular consultation with supervising registered nurses is crucial to keep the hospice team informed about patient progress and family needs.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid CNA certification.
- A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct patient care within an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility).
- At least 1 year of experience in direct patient care in a home health or hospice environment within the last 5 years.
- Completion of a training and competency evaluation program that meets federal and state regulations.
- Registration and good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to the needs of individuals, maintain positive relationships, and effectively communicate observations to supervisors.
