Neurological Surgeon Assistant Professor

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in Neurological Surgery at the Assistant Professor level.
We are looking for an individual with a strong academic background and a proven track record of research excellence in the field of neurological surgery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and centers throughout the university to advance multi-disciplinary approaches to the study of central and peripheral nervous system damage and development of novel treatments to promote functional recovery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pursuing pre-clinical research focused on developing and testing novel strategies to improve functional outcomes following spinal cord injury. Investigators using systems neuroscience, optogenetics, chemogenetics, computational, and/or regenerative approaches are of particular interest, but investigators using other approaches are also encouraged to apply.
Prior work in spinal cord injury is not required. The Miami Project has a long history of recruiting scientists with diverse backgrounds and enabling them to become internationally recognized spinal cord injury researchers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a productive team of basic and clinical scientists investigating CNS injury in a state-of-the-art research center located in a beautiful city.
